These steroids are not the same as those banned by athletes. Controller medicines do not work quickly but take days to start working. These medicines can cause a yeast infection in the mouth or throat, or a hoarse voice. It is important to rinse your mouth or gargle after use. Use a spacer / chamber device if using a metered dose inhaler (MDI) to prevent this side effect.
